My Experience at TXM Recruit – Tyler Ingham

TylerMy experience at TXM Recruit has been everything I expected it to be… brilliant!

Looking back on the day I walked through the door for the first time, I couldn’t have had a better welcome from all of the members of staff. In addition to this, the atmosphere of the office was a huge plus point for me as I see it as so positive and upbeat it makes me want to come into work.

Now that we have been here for quite some time it means that we know some of the employees a lot better. This means that we socialise with them outside of the work environment (e.g. in the games room playing ping pong, or out having a drink), helping us form a better relationship at work.

I have also become good friends with the people I am completing my apprenticeship with and I feel that this betters my experience here. I now feel a lot more comfortable speaking in front of them like I do with my friends outside of work. I feel like part of this has come from the work we have done both as a group and individually in the form of presentations. Currently, every Thursday, we head over to the TXM Academy Training Centre to learn the theory behind our qualification; giving us a chance to develop our knowledge and learn new things about the organisation and the industry that we can take back and use in the office itself.

In the training centre we deliver work such as presentations and other written projects that we have been asked to do in any spare time we get. We deliver these to our tutor and receive feedback giving us an insight as to how we are getting on in the office and our progress towards our NVQ level 2 courses. I find the work challenging yet rewarding, it keeps me busy for most of my day, and along with the other work I am given by the TXM Academy team and all of the team leaders, it is plenty to be getting on with. At TXM, you are never pushed over your boundaries unless you want to be, they want you to improve at your own pace.

The managers in the office are all great. They all made me feel comfortable so quickly whether I was working with their team or not. Some of them will have a laugh with me about things that happen around the office. I hope that I am making a good impression with them as I try to involve myself in most things that are going on outside of work hours. On top of this, the teams are all very helpful with the work I have to get on with, giving me little hints and tips of what to do and what not to do around the office and around certain people. This helps to build trust and start building relationships with my future peers.
